As a part of its smart manufacturing initiatives, REPL intended to develop indigenous industrial automation capabilities to drive higher operational efficiencies, productivity, maximizing capacity utilization and making work place safer and more team member friendly. Several challenges waited to be resolved at the outset:
Two conveyers used together to transport material from the shop floor directly to the loading vehicle. The first conveyer was out under the ground transporting scrap directly from the production floor dumps it on the second, which is put in place at a slanted height at an angle of 45o, transports in right into the loading tray of the waiting vehicle. This has led to fulfilling Rucha’s commitment towards making a REPL a better and hazard free place to work at for all the team members involved in the process.
